Interesting… with younger generations spending more time on the internet being exposed to other cultures, I can see how cultural heritage of oneself may become a growing concern for many elders. As well as how new ideas of how to grow economies may cause arguments between generations. It will be interesting to see studies on how technology impacts society.

Funds for students who want to make it their career to help solve issues of sustainable food availability, food access, food use, and food utilization is something that will benefit many people globally. I hope there are a lot of private, business and foundation donors for this program as well.

I find it interesting that many institutions will say things like “The ideal candidate will enjoy the opportunity to work collaboratively with other researchers”. Yet there seems to be few courses (in high school and college), that are mandatory and teach communication skills. Such as listening, this is vital to communication!

I wonder how many potential qualified candidates may pass up an opportunity such as this one, because they don’t know what the CSIRO Postgraduate and Honours Scholarship Programs are about. It amazes me that so many people interested in free money for college, but these same people will glance at a title, not read the qualifications and ultimately disqualify themselves because it doesn’t SOUND like it is for them.

I think more students would decide to get a PhD and Masters if they knew more about scholarship programs available. It is nice to read articles where the opening sentence is “A number of fully funded PhD and Masters scholarships are available”.

When thinking about studying abroad, health insurance is something that must be looked into. It is nice that blog summarizes it so nicely. I also like that this post mentions the amount in US dollars. $170 dollars for health insurance per year is very affordable, by this country’s standards. That may help encourage people to apply.
